Disney has announced the closure of several iconic Frontierland attractions, including the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat, on July 7, 2025. These attractions will be transformed into a new "Piston Peak National Park" themed area inspired by the Disney and Pixar "Cars" universe. While some fans are excited about the changes, others are disappointed to see the longtime Frontierland attractions go.
