Nanjing is one of the most famous cities in China, with a history dating back more than 3,000 years. It has been the capital city of many dynasties in Chinese history. Nanjing was the capital of China from 1368 to 1912 under the Ming and Qing dynasties, and became one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. It has many historicaland cultural sites such as Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum which are listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. The city is also an important transportation hub in China's Yangtze River Delta area, with convenient transportation by water and land including passenger ships traveling along the Yangtze River as well as trains running through it to other cities such as Shanghai or Suzhou.
